    Page 153 - Branch No. 4 - Hugh McAlister, Jr. (born 1736 in Lancaster County, Pa.; died Sept. 22, 1810) joined the forces of Forbes in the French and Indian War. He served as sergeant, lieutenant and captain in the army of the Revolution, and was commissioned major of the Seventh Battalion of the Militian in Cumberland County, Pa., May 1, 1783. See "History of the Susquehanna and Juaniata Valleys in Pennsylvania," pp. 123 and 834. Hugh McAlister Jr. married Sarah Nelson. They had a son Robert McAlister b. ? died May 26, 1828; probably buried in Tuscarora Valley, Juaniata Couty, Pa. Robert McAlister married Elizabeth Thomson
