He lived in Elba, NY and Maryland. Progressive Batavian - July 18,1890 - Herbert Griffen has his home in MD, but the attractions of hisold home in Elba have brought him back and he dined with us Tuesday.He says Maryland may be a good country to get an easy living in butthe farmer's chances are small for making money. In 1915 he was livingin his sister's home. In 1930 he was living on Chapel St. in Elba, NYwith his brother Lewis and listed as the cemetery sexton.
