    Howard Taft Stubbs

    Howard Taft Stubbs, 69, of Pickens died Saturday, February 21 at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood after a lengthy illness.

    Funeral services for Mr. Stubbs were held Monday, February 23 at 10:00 a.m. at the Baptist Church in Pickens where he was a member. Rev. Harry Hawkins and Rev. Chuck Schilling officiated with interment in the Quiet Ridge Cemetery in Pickens.

    Mr. Stubbs, a native of Reeves, Missouri, was retired after 21 years with the Vocational Rehabilitation of Mississippi. He was a World War II and Korean veteran.

    He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada Atkinson Stubbs of Pickens; two sons, Howard T. Stubbs, Jr. and E.W. Stubbs, both of Pickens; a daughter, Mrs. Mary M. Penn of Canton; a sister, Mrs. Betty Long of Philipp; and 8 grandchildren.

    Pallbearers were Dick Atkinson, Bill Atkinson, E.W. Atkinson, Jr., Richard Stubbs, Paul Long and Ed Morgan.
