Facts and Events
Name[1] Hopestill Butterworth
Gender Female
Birth[1][2] Mar 1665 Rehoboth, Bristol County, Massachusetts, USA
Marriage 25 Jan 1687/88 Swansea, Bristol County, Massachusetts, USAto John Luther
Marriage Abt 1700/01 to John Eddy
Living[4] Apr 1711

Her death date is not known (notwithstanding OneWorldTree, which is not a reliable source). She was living in Apr 1711, when 1 share of her father's estate was distributed to her. If her husband John Eddy is the John Eddy who married Elizabeth Bond in Nov 1711, then Hopestill must have died in 1711, but there does not appear to be a record of her death. If it was a different John Eddy who married Elizabeth Bond, then there seems to be no clue for Hopestill's death, other than that it was after Apr 1711.

'The names of John Butterworth's sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth children are illegible upon the town records. These children were born Sept. 8, 1661, Jan. 22, 1663, March 1665, May 1667. John Butterworth and wife Sarah had :
... Hopestill. [implied to be one of the children whose name is illegible in the town records], married first, John Luther, June 25, 1687; m. second, John Eddy.'

    'BUTTERWORTH ...
Daniell, [of John and Sarah,] beginning of March, 1665'

Given that Austin indicates that the name in the town birth record is illegible, that Austin does not mention a Daniel in this family, and by a process of elimination in which only Hopestill and Mary's birth records are unaccounted for, it seems likely that this is Hopestill's birth record.

'6 R First seven of above [Butterworth children] are given ...'

All 11 children are listed in VR 1-3, which is presumably the VR where names 6 through 9 are illegible. However, the first 7 are also listed in VR 6-R. Presumably this leaves only the names of the eighth and ninth children as uncertain. They are given as Daniell and George in the transcribed VR and implied to be Hopestill and Mary in Austin.
