HOMER was the founder of the Hoover Funeral Home. Together with nine other men, he also organized and opened the First National Bank in Wabash.

Homer was a member of the Wabash Presbyterian Church. He was a charter member of the Wabash Kiwanis Club. He also belonged to the Wabash Elks Club. He also served on the Wabash School Board.
