In Berlin, N. Y., Feb. 24th, 1875, of lung fever, Mr. Hiram D. Hull, aged 48 years. Thus another name is added to those that are gone but not forgotten. Genial of manner and of pleasing address, Brother Hull, in the church and out of it, was a man of many friends; a man who met responsibilities, not with excuses or illiberal hand. In business and in public life, he was widely known, and honored in his efficiency in whatever post he was called to occupy. The church, in his death, has met with a great loss, his family with a sad bereavement, and the community deeply sympathize with both in mourning his departure. A few weeks before his last sickness and before his death, the twilight of spiritual life unfolded into the broad light of Christian faith and confident expectation. Death lost its sting, and the grave its victory. We part with him in sorrow, looking forward with hope to a happy meeting in heaven. His widow in her affliction has our sympathy, and his children, left without a father's care, have our prayers, that when Christ shall gather up his jewels, they may all meet him in heaven. His funeral, Sabbath, Feb. 27th, was largely attended by the many among whom his name was a cherished memory. Text, Rev. 22: 3, 4.
