At New Salem, W. Va., Feb. 22, 1882, of pulmonary consumption, Hiram D. Davis, in the 40th year of his age. He was the son of Dea. L. H. and Margaret Davis. He was a kind husband and father, and leaves a wife and six children, who, with his many other relatives and friends, mourn the loss they feel so greatly. But while they mourn that he is thus early taken away, they rejoice in the blessed assurance that he is only gone before to wait their coming. Funeral services were conducted by Eld. S. D. Davis, at the New Salem church.
