Courant (date of 16 Sept., 1783) gives the following notice: 'Died, at Weth., the third inst., Deacon Hezekiah May, in the 87th yr. of his age. For several years he represented that town in the General Assembly. The soundness of judgment for which he was conspicuous, he retained in a very singular degree to the last. His office in the church, which he sustained for a great length of time, he discharged with fidelity, being remarkable for ruling his children and his own house well. Through life he supported an exemplary Christian character. His last illness, which was distressing, he endured with uncommon patience in the near view of his dissolution, and while in the agonies of death, he enjoyed that serenity and comfort, which arise only from true religion.
