[edit] ObituaryHerbert L. Beitzel 92, retired auctioneer, realtor, and dairy farmer passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2011 following a brief illness. Born in Auburn Township in Tuscarawas County on September 8, 1918, he was the son of the late Jacob L. and Anna Roth Beitzel. On Feb. 15, 1948, he married the love of his life, Isabelle Reif. In 1940, he moved with his family to a dairy farm on Crooked Run Rd in Dover Twp. Herbert and Isabelle took ownership of the farm 1969 and named the farm Her-Belle Farms. Upon retiring from the dairy business, they built a new horse farm known as Her-Belle Registered Halflingers. Herbert served as the past president of the Tuscarawas County Realtors Association and the Tuscarawas County Dairy Service Unit. He served as an auctioneer for 40 years and served as the auctioneer for the Ragersville Historical Society. Herbert was a member of the Dover Twp. Zoning Board, Brandywine Grange, Tuscarawas County Farm Bureau, and St. John's United Church of Christ in Dover. He was always proud of his real estate and especially of the landscaping around his home. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to any neighbor or friend in need. He loved to entertain friends at wedding parties by calling square dances. In addition to his wife, Isabelle, he will be sadly missed by his three daughters, Judy (Richard "Butch") Pollard of Loudenville, Kathy (Robert) Doughty of Coshocton, Bonnie (Jeff) Schrock of New Philadelphia; son, Ron (Melanie) Beitzel of Gahanna; grandchildren, Heather (Keith) Burkhart of Frazeysburg, Heidi (Mike) Bontatibus of Hookset, N.H., Chip Pollard of Loudenville, Jarrod Pollard of Loudenville, Michelle and MacKenzie Doughty of Coshocton, Zachary Beitzel of Gahanna; two step-grandchildren, Jason (Jess) Schrock of West Lafayette, Jerrod (Satin) Schrock of Uhrichsville; three great grandchildren, Drew and Kate Burkhart, Adeline Bontatibus; three step-great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Kiera and Jensen Schrock. He is preceded in death by his brother; Bruce Beitzel; sister, Martha Beitzel; grandson, Caleb Doughty. A celebration of Herbert's life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Elder Glenn Carlisle officiating. Interment will take place at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center in Dover.
