In response to your email below: Henry Winfrey was the one who married Elizabeth (Gordon) Elam in Chesterfield Co., VA. A Henry Winfrey was in Powhatan along with Reuben, William, Isaac, and Samuel - all filed suits for collection of debt owed them in the 17?? which continued through 1805. They all collected. I believe this to be the same Henry as the one below. Henry Winfrey bought land in 1798 in Buckingham Co., VA and was on the 1810 Buckingham Co., census records with 3 sons, one daughter and wife. The family names were not listed but all ages fit. He bought land in Madison Co., AL in 1812 and is thought to have moved there about 1815. He left no will but AL court records show his heirs and his estate wasn't settled until 1826 as I remember.
