Was in Milford, CT, in 1652, though "what year he came or what ship he came in is unknown" (Orcutt, p. 5). Weaver and kept an ordinary. Moved to Stratford by spring 1657.

Will of "Henr. Tomlinson of Stratford", dated 15 Mar 1680-81, proved 28 Apr 1681, mentions wife Allice Tomlinson; sons Agur and Jonas; daughters Harger [later named as Margaret Harger], Mary Pierson, Tabatha Worster, Phebe Worster, Bashua Stiles; grandchildren Timothy Worster, Abigail Harger; wife executrix with friends Richard Blaklidg and Joseph Hawley and son[-in-law] Ephraim Stiles as overseers. Inventory of "the estate of Henry Tomlinson deceased March 16 : 1680 or 1681" taken 26 Mar 1681 totaled £518.16.2. (Orcutt, p. 9-11).

    George Tomlinson m. Jan. 1600, at St. Peter's, London, Mary Hyde; who have been claimed as parents of Henry, bapt. Nov. 1606, at St. Peter's, Werbury, co. Derby, Eng. He took the oath at Milford, 1652, and kept the tavern there in 1656; was a weaver, and removed to Stratford by 1659. He d. at Stratford, 16, bur. 17 Mar. 1680/1. His widow Alice m. (2) Dea. John Birdsey, and d. 25 Jan. 1697/8. Will 15 Mar. 1680/1, proved 28 Apr. 1681 (he d. 16 Mar. 1680/1); wife Alice; son Agur; married children, Jonas, dau. Harger, Mary Pierson, Tabitha Wooster, Phebe Wooster, Bashua Stiles; dau. Margaret Harger; gr. son Timothy Wooster; son Ephraim Stiles. In 1688 the widow had m. John Birdsey, Sr.
