Much of what we know of Henry Ford was derived from A Standard History of Kosciusko County, Indiana by Royse (1919), page 44, which states that Henry and Phoebe (Minear) Ford moved to Kosciusko County, IN from Harrison County, VA in the summer of 1836. He settled first in the SE 1/4 of Section 35 in Wayne Township. In 1858, he moved to Section 13 of Wayne Township and lived on the farm he developed there until his death in 1872. He served as a justice of the peace for a number of years.
