Obituary
- Richmond Enquirer Obituary Pub. Date Oct 18, 1831
- "Died at his residence in Lovingston, Nelson County on the 10th day of October after a short illness. Major Henry Dawson, in the 52nd year of his age -- In the death of this amiable man, the bounty has been deprived of one of the most peaceable, orderly, and upright citizens and his family, consisting of a wife and three sons, will have long to deplore the loss of a most affectionate, kind, and indulgent husband and father. In his varied and multiple transactions with his fellow men, it has always been remarked of Major Dawson that his course was invariably upright, liberal, and fair. In truth, it may be said of him that he lived and died one of the most "noblest works of God, an honest man"."
