    Funeral services for Henry Carpenter, age 87, were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday with the rites in charge of the Reverend Johnnie Sones. Interment was in the Willie Cemetery near Folsom. Carpenter died at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at the family residence in the Spring Hill community. the remains lay in state at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Perry Creel in the Spring Hill community. Survivors include four sons, Ambrose Carpenter, Johnny Carpenter, Chester Carpenter and Ellis Carpenter, all of Franklinton; four daughters, Mrs. Wilson Creel, Mrs. Percy [sic, Perry] Creel, Mrs. Lilly Mizell, all of Isabel [sic, Mrs. Perry Creel lived at Springhill], and Mrs. Katie McDonald of Tickfaw; two sisters, Mrs. Chattie Manning and Mrs. Mamie Skelton of Covington; one brother, Dolph Lee of Robert, Louisiana; thirty-four grandchildren and fifty-five great-grandchildren. Brown Funeral Home in Bogalusa were in charge of the arrangements.
