    Henry Brown, known as "Uncle Henry", migrated to Rome Twp. in 1810, only three years after the first settlers to the area. He came from East Lyme, Conn. and after settling in Rome made the trip back to his origin no less than 8 times and each trip was by foot. Henry always carried a 6 foot long gun which is still on display at the Hubbard House Museum in Ashtabula Ohio.
