She was born Dec. 11, 1915, in Turtle Lake Township to Otto and Minnie (Sass) Pichelman. She married Henry Dietrich at Silver Creek on Nov. 3, 1934. Helen lived her entire life in the Silver Creek area, where she farmed with her husband. She was a longtime member of Immanuel Silver Creek Lutheran Church. She has been a resident of Barron Riverside Manor since 1993. Helen was an active quilter. Surviving are her sons, Ronald (Sheila) of Almena and Larry (Betty) of The Dalles, Ore.; daughters, Doreen (Gerald) Hatch and Sharon (Jerry) Mausolf, both of Almena; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 11, 1981; a son, Roger; a grandson, Michael Hatch; a granddaughter, Darcee Mausolf; and a sister, Grace Dietrich. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, from Immanuel Silver Creek Lutheran Church, rural Clayton, Rev. Norman Peterson officiating, with burial at Mount Hope Cemetery, rural Clayton. Pallbearers were Jerry Mausolf, Gerald Hatch, Russell Mausolf, Matthew Mausolf, Nathan Hubbard and Mark Hubbard . Skinner Funeral Home, Turtle Lake, handled arrangements.
