Facts and Events
Helen C. Vodde, 80, died at 5:46 a.m. Sunday in Lutheran Hospital. Mrs. Vodde was a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne. Surviving are her husband, Albert; two sons, Robert J., of Fort Wayne, and James E., of Indianapolis; five daughters, Patricia Altmeyer, Mary Ann Schrock, Marlene Deiser, Jeanette Hatfield and Carol Sivert, all of Fort Wayne; a sister, Mary Alice Stringer of Fort Wayne, and 37 grandchildren. Services at 9:40 a.m. Wednesday at Mungovan & Sons Memorial Chapel, 2114 S. Calhoun St., and 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 518 E. DeWald St. Calling 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the rosary recited 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to American Heart Association or Masses to the church.
