    Mrs. Helen L. C. Bresee, Sutton
    Sutton, Que., June 6. __ One of the highly respected citizens of his place in the person of Mrs. Helen L. Carr Bresee passed away on Wednesday night, May 25th, after a lingering illness of some months.
    The late Mrs. Bresee was the widow of the late Silas Bresee, who predeceased her some years ago. She was born in Richford, Vt., on October 26th 1839, where she lived sixteen years, after coming to Sutton where she was married and lived most of her life here and West Brome, having nine children, two Jessie and William dying in infancy.
    A short service was conducted at the house, Rev. H. Carters officiating at two p.m. on Friday, May 27th.
    She leaves to mourn the loss of a loving and kind mother, five sons and two daughters, namely: - Mrs. Ella Harvey, Knowlton; Leslie Bresee, of Sutton; G. G. Bresee, Waterloo; Nelson Bresee, of Sutton, with whom she lived; Howard Bresee, of Cowansville; Mrs. W. D. Shepard of East Farnham; and Percy Bresee, of Sutton, all of whom were present at the funeral. Also two brothers and one sister survive, Mr. Geo. [N.] Carr, of Sutton; D. A. Carr, of North Hatley; and Mrs. [F. A.] Chamberlain, of Sutton.
    The bearers were her four sons Messrs Percy, Nelson, Leslie and Howard
