From: "Mary Sciance" To: Subject: Duffords Date: Sun, 9 Mar 2003 22:12:17 -0500 Hi Shaun, I was so happy to receive your reply to my e-mail regarding the Dufford Ancestors. Thank you so much. The William and Susan Dufford that you found in the 1880 census in Butler County, Connonquessing Twp sounds like they could be my great grandparents. Were their children's names listed? I know of three children. My grandmother, Luwilda Amarian Dufford McFarland had a twin brother Samuel Dufford. She also had a sister Susan. My mother told me that my great grandparents were cousins. You have Hazel Elizabeth Dufford Weitzel's parents listed as Jacob H. Dufford and Susan Elizabeth Turk. They weren't her real parents. I'm not sure whether they adopted her or whether they just raised her. She is my mother's half sister. My grandmother, Luwilda Amarian Dufford had Hazel before she was married and aunt Hazel was raised by an aunt and uncle Dufford. Aunt Hazel's daughter Grace Weitzel Juergenson is deceased. Grace had two daughters, Tina and Julie, but I have lost track of them. They lived in Florida. I wish that I would have been interested in genealogy years ago when my mother and aunt Hazel were still living and aunt Hazel used to visit so that I could have found out more about my great grandparents and other Dufford ancestors and relatives in Butler, PA. I used to hear them talking about relatives but didn't pay any attention to it at that time. Thanks for the information that you have given me. I really appreciate it. Mary References
