PHILLIPS -- Hayden B. Dustin, 62, died early Monday at the Veterans Hospital in Togus where he had been a patient for the past two weeks following a long illness. Born April 13, 1922, in Madrid, the son of Norman and Marion Plummer Dustin, Sr., he was educated in Madrid schools. He married Faris Dunham, July 1, 1950 at Phillips. She died Oct. 11, 1981. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of Blue Mountain Lodge AF & AM of Phillips. He was employed as a maintenance supervisor at Reddington Naval Survival Base for 18 years, retiring in April of this year. He is survived by one daughter, Carla Lisherness of Kingfield; one son, Tony Dustin of Phillips; one stepdaughter, Patricia Woods of Roxbury; two brothers, Elliott Plummer of Rangeley and Norman Dustin Jr. of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. |
