    Harrison Taylor (1735-1789) [s/b d. 1811]
    He had to strike out for himself. He bought land and built a mill and a home ten miles from Winchester, Va. He married Jane Curlett, daughter of Nicholas Curlett, who fought with General Morgan in the French and Indian Wars. They took into their home and cared for thirty orphans during the Revolutionary War. (Swem, V. 2, p. 865, and Virginia Historical Society). After the war, they with their eleven children moved to Kentucky and located in Bourbon and Ohio Counties.

    Harrison Taylor married Jane Curlette, daughter of Nicholas Curlette, who fought with General Morgan in the French and Indian Wars. Harrison and Jane took into their home and cared for 30 orphans during the Revolutionary War. After the war, they with their children moved to Kentucky and located in Bourbon and Ohio Counties.


    His parents were John Taylor and Hannah Harrison of Virginia.

    Harrison Taylor was known as "Honest old Taylor at the Mill." He married Margaret Curlett, daughter of Nicholas Curlett, and sister to Frances Curlett, who married George Smith, above named. Later they sold their property in Virginia and moved to Kentucky. Harrison Taylor came East to Winchester when it was a frontier village, from central Virginia. His parents were of Welsh and English origin.
