Widow Maund, assignment of Dower:
In persuance to an Order of Botetourt County, July Court 1815. We the undersigned after having taken into consideration the Value & Situation of the following tracts of land in the County of Botetourt of which John James Maund died possessed, to wit, a tract of 500 acres originally surveyed by Richard Cole; a tract of 32 acres originally surveyed by James Wilson joining the above, and the land of Robert Walker a tract of 188 acres known by the name of the slash joining McKallister a tract of 190 acres on which Wivis [?] now lives, conveyed to Maund dec'd by Jeremiah Bell an Inclusion tract of 6,000 acres including the tract called the loop and Grafes [?] Vivn tract, a tract of 220 acres joining and above the land of John Wilson dec'd on both sides of Craigs Creek two tracts of 64 & 32 acres on which Franklin now lives and a tract of 400 acres on Barbers Creek after having considered the situation and present value of these lands We have layed off and assigned to Harriott L. Maund widow and Relict of the said John James Maund deceased the said tract of 188 acres called the Slash which joins the land of MaKillster and the said tracts of 64 & 32 acres on which Franklin now lives as his Down in all of the above tracts of land
Given under our hands this 9th day of August 1815.
