↑ There is no marriage of a Mr. Wellman to wife Hannah (except Isaac Wellman of Norton who m. 1748, too early for this Hannah born about 1741-1742, and named his wife Hannah in his will of 1796, Bristol Probate 27362), nor is there a record of the death of a Mr. Wellman in the years before the 1781 marriage to Nathaniel Hills. Therefore, it seems probable Wellman might have been her maiden name. A Hannah Wellman is born in Attleboro in 1738. The birth doesn't quite match the age at death, but it is in the ballpark. No disposition of this daughter is shown in Source:Wellman, Joshua Wyman. Descendants of Thomas Wellman of Lynn, Massachusetts, p. 118. More research is needed.
