- ↑ A book online "Chasing Restless Roots: The Dreams that Lured Us Across America", by Michael Luick-Thrams, p. 177, says Hannah Twist was of Salem and had a sister Martha who m. Elias' brother Joseph Jennison. There are birth records for two Hannah Twists in Salem and none for Martha, so Hannah's parentage hasn't been identified yet. Further it is not known how the maiden name of Joseph's wife was determined, there being no marriage record, nor informative probates.
[[Source:]], Vol. 10, p. 195, "Peter Twiss of Salem, Massachusetts" by Harriet Dieterich, says, "There were 3 Hannah Twisses, the daughters of Edward, John and Daniel, and no clue, except dates, as to which is which." This source speculates she is the Hannah, bp. 6 Jun 1725, d/o John Twiss and Abigail Putney. Elias and Abigail Jennison named their first daughter Abigail, so perhaps this is correct? Note that no Martha Twiss is shown (barring a sister of the three possible fathers who married Jonathan Nurse), nor mention of Joseph Jennison or his wife.
