Hannah Frances Smalley, wife of Geo. W. Petro, was born in Bourbon, county, Ky., May 7, 1836. Died at Greenfield, Ind., May 1, 1906, aged 69 years, 11 month and 24 days. She was married to Geo. W. Petro at Connersville, Ind. March 12, 1860. To them were born six children, two of them together with her husband, having preceded her in death. In her early life she became a member of the Baptist church, and although ill health kept her from active church work, she was ever true to the vow she so early took. She was a good, kind, indulgent mother, and a good neighbor, whose ever thought was for the comfort of others. She leaves a lesson that all may well follow, and in so doing at the end of life can say to the Master, “I have kept the faith.”

...Those in attendance from a distance at the funeral of Mrs. George Petro, last Thursday, were Mrs. Arnold and Mrs. Hudson, Greenfield; Mrs. McCloud, Shelbyville; Mrs. Tate, Connersville; Mrs. William Smalley, Spiceland; Mrs. Hauscon, Modoe; Miss Lidia Jennings, Greenwood; Mrs. Hamilton and Mr. And Mrs. Mayse, Lyons Station.
