  3. Hannah is named as Hannah Lawrence in the 1767 will of her father. An article, "Richard Sawtell of Watertown, Mass., and Some of His Descendants" by Dale C. Kellogg and John B Threlfall, in NEHGR, Vol. 126, p. 13, says Hannah "m. David Lawrence of Littleton, Mass." and notes the error in age at death which caused some sources to mistakenly identify her as the daughter of Hezekiah Sawtell. The earliest mention found of David and Hannah Lawrence is the birth of a son David in Littleton 7 Nov 1761. Given the son's name, probably the first child of the father. Given her age at the time of birth (about 36-37) there is a possibility that Hannah was a widow when she married. It may be that she was the Hannah Sawtell who m. [per Groton VRs] 4 Jan 1743/44 David Kemp. There is no record of the death of David Kemp, or any probate, and they had a child Betsey [see Groton VRs] 31 Dec 1760, making it unlikely but not impossible that she could have had another child 11 months later, especially if the Kemp child was born posthumous. All that can be shown with evidence, though, is the marriage to David Lawrence.
