    Case 16432: Hannah Park .

5 Apr 1731: Hannah Park in her 13th year of age a Daughter of Jonathan Park late of Newtown Yeoman granted to John Kimbal of Watertown Cooper.
[Note: in 13th year would be born after 5 Apr 1718. Yet she is mentioned in her father's will so born before 12 Jan 1718/19.]

PARKE, Hanah [dup. Hannah Park], d. Jonathan and Hanah [dup. Hannah], [born] Oct. 25 [dup. Feb. 25], 1718.
[Jackson's History of Newton, p. 384 gives the birthdate as 25 Feb 1718 by which he appears to means 25 Feb 1717/18. It is not clear why he chooses the date from the duplicate. A date written as Feb 1718 at the time would mean 1718/19, so Jackson's interpretation would appear to be incorrect, so along with the information from the guardian file that places the birth between April and January, it appears Oct. 1718 is the correct date.]

  3. Newton VRs show the birth of Hannah as a ch. John and Elizabeth (second w.) with no birth date. It is marked as "Town copy with additions" meaning it was probably inserted by the committee in 1850s. There are several other children given to these parents, including Mindwell, Lydia, Eunice, Margary, that make it clear this is supposed to be Jonathan Park. It is presumed that these children were added by the committee based on Jonathan's will? Therefore, the inclusion of Hannah, who was a child of his 3d wife, should probably not be interpreted to say there was an earlier Hannah who died young?
