    "1690 … Nov: 2 … _____ daughter to Joseph Olmstead."

  3. It is not at all clear that Hannah had a twin sister Mary. The First Church record shows only that a daughter of Joseph Olmstead was baptized on 2 November 1690. Barbour, in Families of Early Hartford has Hannah baptized on that date with no mention of Mary. Where did Mr. Olmsted find this Mary? In Deacon Joseph Olmsted's will of 29 May 1722 he makes a bequest "my daughter Mary Olmsted, sometime the wife of my sd. son Nicholas decd.,…" There is no mention of a Mary, daughter of Joseph Olmsted, in his will.
