    Hannah S. Jenkins, wife of Lucius Garthwaite, was born in Scotch Plains, Union county, N. J., July 2, 1835, and died at Milton Jct., April 26, 1904, in the 69th year of her age. She made a profession of faith in Christ when 10 years old, in the ordinance of baptism and united with the Seventh-day Baptist church of New Market, N. J., and in the year 1857 with a letter from that church she joined the church at Rock River. In later years she became a member of the Milton Junction Seventh-day Baptist church continuing her membership there until death. She was married to Lucius Garthwaite Dec. 13, 1856, at Rock River. Unto them were born seven children, 3 sons and four daughters. Two of these died in infancy. A husband and five children are left to mourn their loss. The children are Samuel, of Stoughton, William of Ft. Atkinson, Mrs. William Tanner of Edgerton, Mrs. Elmer Barnes of Milton, and Mrs. Nettie Hurd of Milton Junction. The latter lived with Mrs. Garthwaite at the time of her death. There are also twelve grandchildren. Mrs. Garthwaite has spent the greater part of the last forty-seven years in Milton. The text (Psalm 103:1) and the hymns to be sung at the funeral were chosen by her. The funeral is to be held at the M. E. church in Milton Junction Saturday, April 30, at 10:30 o'clock.
