Case 24533: Goodale, Joseph, Athol, 1790.
3 Sep 1793: Account of Joseph Goodale Administrator on the Estate of Joseph Goodale late of Athol. Ordered to distribute to heirs, Sarah Fish wife of David Fish having released her Right to the Estate, to Joseph Goodale, John goodale, Solomon goodale, Thankful Blanchard wife of Benjamin Blanchard, Hannah wife of Eph'm Wheeler, Tim'o Goodale, Delia wife of David Forbush, and to the heirs of Azubah Thomas dec'd.
- It is presumed that Wheeler copied from Pierce. No marriage record exists to confirm this marriage that these two so confidently tell us about, so the only evidence we know about is based on the father's probate and the births of the children to Ephraim and Hannah, starting with Reuben in 1772. But if Hannah is the daughter of Joseph, and sister the other heirs listed in the probate, then it appears from the Grafton VRs that her birth was in 1753, not 1757 as reported by Wheeler, when he copied from Pierce. Where their date of 1757 comes from is unclear, as it bears no resemblance to the actual date, but it would make Hannah the ridiculously young age of 15 at the time her first child was born.
- ↑ This Find A Grave memorial cites something called "Reminscences of the Wheelers written by Philander A. Wheeler" in saying Ephraim's wife Hannah died of small pox in 1797 or 98, but says the estimated year of death for Hannah is wrong, without explaining or giving an alternate. Purportedly, as a small pox victim, she was buried on the farm, so no memorial for her seems to exist.
