Hannah Drinkwater was baptised on 16th April 1778 at Toddington in Bedfordshire, daughter of Hannah Drinkwater, formerly Purrat, and her husband George Drinkwater. Sadly she died as a baby, being buried later that year in the neighbouring parish of Chalgrave. Her parents named their next daughter Hannah the following year.
