Gurnsey did not like her name so she used Marie G. Ice or Thomas. Her birth certificate had an error on the spelling of her name, so it actually reads "Gursey". Marie died of Cardio-Pulmonary Obstructive Disease, commonly known as COPD, a combination of emphysema and bronchitis.

(Medical):Marie had pleurisy, and was normally about 98 lbs. No one knew she was as sick as she was, including her doctor and specialist who had treated her for 11 years.

Gurnsey is buried at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, In. She is in the Garden of Devotion. Take the drive around to the circle. By the tree, go straight back. Her stone is in the back. Mom was a house wife all her life. She done a very good job at raising us.
