"Gregory Calmfeild's will has been located in the Northamptonshire Record Office (file #2/H/166): In the name of god Amen. I Gregory Calmfeild of harleston in the County of Northampton mason though sicke in bodie yet of perfect mind and memorie god be praysed for it, doo ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme followinge ffirste I commend my soule into the handes of almightie god from whom I received it, my bodie to be buried in the Churchyard of Harlestone aforesaid. Item I give and bequeath unto my foure daughters, Elizabeth, Jane, Merrill and Joane the some of seaven poundes and one shillinge to be paid unto them by my sonne Richard Calmfeild in manner and forme followinge that is to saye my daughter Elizabeth shall have paid her 12d within one month after my decease, And my daughters Jane and Merrill either of them tenn shillings a pecce within one yeare after my decease and tenne shillings a peece more within two yeeres after my decease and my daughter Joane shall have paid unto her five pounds at two severall dayes of payment that is fiftie shillings within one yeare after my decease and fiftie shillings more within two yeares after my decease. Item I give unto my sonne Mathew Calmfeild 12d to be payd unto him within one month after my decease Item I give unto my daughter Joane one cubboard and one dozen of pewter spoones. Item I give unto my wife the one halfe of all the rest of my goodes unbequeathed and to Richard Calmfeild whom I make my whole executor the other halfe of my goodes unbequeathed And to this my will I doo intreate and appoint for overseers those whose names are underwritten.
