    Grace (Sherman), b. at Watertown, 10 Mar. 1658/9; m. as his second wife, (Capt.) Ebenezer Prout, b. at Boston, 14 Mar. 1656, d. at Middletown, Conn., 27 Apr. 1735, son of Capt. Timothy and Margaret (_____) Prout. He moved from Watertown to Concord, Maas., about 1696, and by 1711 to Wethersfield, Conn., and some years later to Middletown. He was Deputy and Clerk of the House in 1689, and represented Watertown in 1693; Town Clerk in 1694. In May 1711, "Mr. Ebenezer Prout, now residing in Wethersfield, is by this Assembly allowed to practice physick and surgery, within this Colony" [Col. Rec. of Conn., 5-228]. In 1715 he was proceeded against for illegally buying land of an Indian [ib., 5-538].

  2. The date and place of her death are not known, but, given the relative completeness of the published Middletown vital records, she likely died prior to her husband's removal to that place.
