    NEW PALTZ - Gladys V. Woodin of Huguenot Street, a retired schoolteacher, died Saturday at her residence. She was 87.
    She was a graduate of the state Normal School, now SUNY New Paltz. She and her husband, Harrison J. Woodin, who died in 1973, were former residents of Mineola and Westbury. Before her retirement, she taught fifth grade at Violet Avenue School, Poughkeepsie. She was a member of the Reformed Church of New Paltz and Senior Citizens of New Paltz.
    Born July 18, 1902, in Lyckers Corners, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Laura Lycker VanAlstine.
    Surviving are two sons, David Woodin of Reno, Nev., and Robert Woodin of Englewood, Fla.; a brother, Roger VanAlstine of Branchville, N.J.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
    The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Pine Funeral Home, 124 Main St., with the Rev. Ralph Morris officiating. Burial will be in New Paltz Rural Cemetery.
