Patricia J (McGuigan) Moore, Gladys's niece, relates that Gladys's first husband Francis was a Police officer who was physicaly abusive and that after one particularly brutal beating Gladys left him taking the two boys with her. She eventually divorced Mr. Kennedy and set out to raise her two boys alone. Later she met and married her second husband who's first name was Arley and who she remebers as a kind man. Patty credits Gladys with saving her from her own mother Janet H Graham McGuigan who was a cruel mother. ("Aunt Gladys" as posted 25 Mar 2010 by James Moore in Ancestry.com)
