BODE, Gerrit, age 81, of Lynden, passed away in the Lynden Christian Rest Home, Friday, Sept. 14th, (1962) following a short illness. A native of Holland, he had been a resident of the Lynden area since 1912. He was a member of the Third Christian Reformed Church of Lynden. Surviving are six sons, Leonard, Tuenis, William, Bernard and Eugene, all of Lynden and Clarence of Mount Vernon; three daughters, Miss Gertrude Bode of Seattle, Mrs. Jeanette Vander Vate and Mrs. Peggy Thorinson, both of Everett, one sister, A. P. Jongeneel, of Lynden, also 31 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Third Christian Reformed Church Monday, Sept. 17th at 2 p.m., with Rev. Walter Ackerman officiating. Burial will follow in Monumenta Cemetery under direction of the Gillies Funeral Home.
