George Hulzebos, 79, died Friday at his home here in Parkersburg, IA. He was born Feb. 18, 1875, in the Netherlands. He married Anna Schipper there in September 27, 1898. The couple came to America in 1906 and settled first at Ellsworth, MN. They came to Austinville, IA, in 1907, and to Parkersburg in 1939. He worked for a number of farmers and the highway department. Surviving are seven daughters, Effie at home, Johanna, Mrs. Wiegert Siebenga of Parkersburg, Mrs. Devinnie DeVries of Austinville, Rena, Mrs. Lucas DeVries of New Hartford, Elizabeth, Mrs. Henry Ridder of Aplington, Martha, Mrs. Kobus Nevenhoven of Austinville, and Gertrude, Mrs. Harm Hovenga of Aredale; 14 grandchildren; 5 great grand children; four brothers, Albert and Tebbo of Morris, MN, Reinhard of Sibley, IA, and Meno of Windom, MN. He was preceded by his wife, an infant son, an infant sister and his parents. Funeral services Monday at 1:30 PM at the home and at 2 PM at the Christian Reformed Church with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. John Engelkes funeral director.
