    Gerald L. "Jerry" Tolin, 87, of Topeka, passed away on December 31, 2005, at Westwood Manor, Topeka following a long illness with Alzheimers. He was born at Soldier, KS, April 6, 1918, son of George and Mayme (Cox) Tolin. At the age of two, Gerald and his family moved to a farm near Hoyt, KS, where he grew up. Gerald graduated from Hoyt High School and attended Stricklers Business College. Later, he worked at Kaw Valley Produce Co. for over 50 years. Gerald was a member of the HIghland Park United Methodist Church. On October 7, 1944, he married Mary J. Tew at Topeka, KS. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Rick Tolin and wife, Jane, of Haven, KS; a granddaughter, Angie Goodrich and husband Matt, Topeka; and a grandson, Matthew Tolin, Manhattan, KS. Gerald was preceded in death by a son, Robert W. Tolin, who died on January 12, 2003; and by a sister, Lorene Williamson. Additional survivors include a brother, Joyce E. Tolin, Topeka; and two sisters, Ferne Morse, Topeka, and Vivian Parr, Rossville. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive whom Jerry loved dearly. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2006, at the funeral home with burial to follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
