Gerald H. Michel, 99, Sarasota, died March 4, 2000.
He was born Jan. 23, 1901, in Geneva, Ohio, and came to Sarasota in 1971. He was a retired superintendent of schools. He was a member of Shrine of Sahib Temple, a volunteer for Sarasota Meals on Wheels, and past president of the Rotarians of Wickliffe, Ohio. He was an elder at First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include three sons, John of Tampa, David of New York City and Tom of Chardon, Ohio; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. March 24 at First presbyterian Church. Covell Cremation and Funeral center, Bradenton, is in charge.
Memorial donations may be made to meals on Wheels, 421 Lime Ave. N, Sarasota, FL 34237; or to First Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund, 2050 Oak St., Sarasota, FL 34237.
