    George Washington Williams was born 10 August 1833 to John Williams and Jane Knight.
    He was a farmer, Methodist minister, and a member of the WV Legislature.
    In 1866, he married Elizabeth McClung, daughter of Russell McClung and Sarah McClintock.
    George and Elizabeth were the parents of Minnie V (James W Deitz), Lena E (Joseph R Ford), Callie (J D Thrasher), Ida S (Jefferson D Anderson) Casius, and Harry S.
    George was a Confederate veteran, serving in the 60th Virginia Infantry and the 13th Virginia Artillery.
