In Nortonville, Kan., April 7, 1891, of la grippe, Mr. Geo. W. Williams, in his 79th year.
"Uncle George" - as he was called by everyone - was born in Berlin, N. Y., Dec. 4, 1812. He moved with his wife to Wisconsin when it was yet a territory, and thence to Kansas about fourteen years ago. We loved him for his generosity, diligence in business, hospitality and affectionate disposition, nor do we sorrow without hope of his having departed in peace with God and his fellow-men. His wife, son and daughter reside in this place, surrounded by sympathizing friends. Rev. Sumner Martin, pastor of the Christian church, conducted the services at the house. Rev. Mr. Hood (United Presbyterian) offered prayer. Text, 2 Cor. 4: 17, 18.
