George Randolph Wells, youngest child of Oscar Clark and Inez Randolph Wells, was born August 19, 1906 near Farina, IL, and died Jan 12, 1982 at Joliet, IL. He was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church at Farina. Mr. Wells began his teaching career in a rural school of Marion Co., IL, where both his father and grandfather, George Clark Wells, had preceded him as teachers. He taught at several IL secondary schools and when he retired in '72, he had completed 26 years at Joliet Township High School. He served as Science Dept. chairman, Central Campus, for many years. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Wiseheart Wells, one son, Richard R. Wells, DeKalb, IL, three grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Gail Alderdyce of Battle Creek, Mich. Services were held Jan. 15, at the Richards St. United Methodist Church of Joliet with the Rev. James M. Reed, pastor, in charge. Burial was in the Farina cemetery.
