Gail has that Will was a boatman on the Sabine River. Moved to Texas before 1850. Killed just after Early was born.

1850 Jefferson County, Texas Census has George W. Wellington Male age 32 born in MA. A boatman. On page 142.

From the book "The Giger's": Killed in a gunfight in Smith County, Texas, in a dispute over water rights.

Gail originally thought that George and Tabitha married in Comanche Co. then moved to Brown Co. or moved to Brown Co. and got married there. He had that Erly was born in Brown Co., Texas. He writes, "Mr. Wellington and his partner were in the well drilling business in Brown County. Soon after Early's Birth, Wellington and his partner had an arguement that ended in a gunfight in the street. In this gunfight, both men were killed."
