Walker, George - born 1745 in Fauquier County, Virginia; entered service 1776 in Burke County, North Carolina, where resided, as lieutenant in North Carolina company; entered service 1779 as captain in North Carolina regiment; granted Pension 1832 in Bledsoe County, Tennessee; died there 10/12/1833; wife died before him; soldier survived by children: Ephrain, Sarah Matlock, Dicy Howard, Hesse, Charlotte, Cherry, Buckner & William (age 60 in 1852); query letter in file 1907 from descendant Miss Margaret Howard of Chattanooga, Tennessee; query letter in file 1816 from Miss Nannie Walker, Hazard, Kentucky. Land Acquisitions

LAND HOLDINGS AND TRANSACTIONS
George Walker received the following N.C. Land Grants in Burke County:
(1) 200 acres on Henry River (of S. Fork of Catawba) adjacent to his upper survey. The land lay adjacent to land belonging to Leonard Patterson, (1779).
(2) 50 acres on S. Fork of Catawba, adjacent to land formerly entered by David Williams, (1788).
(3) 300 acres on Wards Branch of Little Broad River, including "improvements whereon the Folkinbery's (Falconbarry) now lives," (i788).
(4) 150 acres on S. Fork of Catawba including improvements of Edward Dougherty, (1795).
