"George Trout, aged 50 years, a stone mason, who resided at Carthage, took a revolver and went to an outbuilding to kill a rat. A little later Mrs. Trout heard a muffled explosion, and glancing out of the window saw her husband staggering toward the house, falling as he reached the steps. A physician was summoned but Trout was dead where(?) aid could be rendered him. Nothing definite is known as to how the accident happened. Trout had lived in Carthage all his life. He leaves a wife and three small daughters.
