[Brøderbund WFT Vol. 2, Ed. 1, Tree #4877, Date of Import: Oct 13, 1993] George was found on the 1850 census of Marshall Co, Miss. (Northern Division). He was listed as 49 years old when census was taken in Aug. 1850. This would make his birth some time between Aug 1800 & Aug 1801. On the census, his birth place was listed as Warren Co, KY. He was missing on the 1860 census, which by now the family was in Arkansas. We assumed that he had died some time before the census was taken. The 1860 census of Prairie Co, AR showed that C. Thompson (this is more than likely our Cynthia) was the head of the household. Most of the same children, as was on the 1850 census, was listed with her. George and Synthia (spelling on the 1850 census) were found to be married in Logan Co, KY. The marriage date was Feb. 15, 1919. The first child that we know about is Amanda, but they must have had several children before her, considering their ages. (I'm guessing they had 6 or 7 children before Amanda.) There was a George Thompson who came to Arkansas and became an ordained Minister in the New Hope Babtist Church in Prairie City, Ark. on May 3rd, 1857. This is more than likely our George. References
