Notes

George Ross appears to have died prior to his widow Mary's second marriage to Walter Crockett. She is referred to as "Mary Rose [sic], widow" in the marriage record in Montgomery County, Virginia ["A Brief of Wills and Marriages in Montgomery and Fincastle Counties, Virginia, 1733-1831”, compiled by Anne Lowry Worrell, pg. 14]. There does not appear to be any Census records of a George Ross in 1820 in Montgomery County, Virginia, which appears to confirm George's likely death prior to that date.
