  2. Source:Austin, John D. Stephen Hopkins of the Mayflower and His Descendants for Four Generations, p. 73, is a little confusing. It says that Grace (Snow) Hedge, widow of Samuel Hedge, m. (2) Eastham 1716 George Lewis, and then identifies this as probably the son of James and Sarah (Lane) Lewis of Barnstable. But almost everything else it says seems to argue that it was a different George Lewis and that the son James and Sarah (Lane) Lewis is the one that m. Alice Crocker.

First it notes that the son of James and Sarah d. Nov 1769, and prints a will of George Lewis proved in 1769. It explicity states that this will belongs to the widower of Alice Crocker (matched by the children named in it). [The will also mentions a brother Ebenezer, and James and Sarah Lewis had a son named Ebenezer, while Thomas and Jane Lewis, mentioned below as parents of an alternate George, did not.]

It notes the George Lewis who married Alice Crocker in 1711 could not be the one who married Grace (Snow) Hedge since Alice did not die until 1718. So there are two different George Lewises involved.

This source points out that there is another George Lewis b. 1691, s/o Thomas and Jane Lewis, apparently offering him as the husband of Alice Crocker. But he would not even have been of legal age in 1711 when Alice Crocker was married. Further, he was of Eastham, and Samuel Hedge d. in Eastham leaving Grace a widow in that town, and Grace's recorded marriage to George Lewis is in Eastham. The George Lewis that was son of James and Sarah was born in Barnstable, died in Barnstable. Alice Crocker lived in Barnstable. So what seems probable is that the George who was son of Thomas and Jane of Eastham married widow Grace Hedge of Eastham, while the George who was son of James and Sarah of Barnstable married Alice Crocker of Barnstable.

Source:Williams, Barbara Lewis. 400 Years with a New England Lewes - Lewis Family, p. 23 gives the will of George Lewis of Boston, dated 7 Nov 1738, and he names his wife Grace, and all his brothers and sisters (i.e., all the children of Thomas and Jane Lewis), making it very clear that it was George Lewis, son of Thomas and Jane, that married Grace (Snow) Hedge, leaving George Lewis, son of James and Sarah, to be husband of Alice Crocker.
