    "George A. Johnson was born in
    North Carolina, November 5, 1850
    and died September 27, 1934 at the
    age 83 years, 10 months and 22
    days.
    He moved to Mississippi with his
    parents when he was small. He was
    left an orphan at the age of 13.
    He then moved to Arkansas with
    an older brother. In 1872 he mar-
    ried Miss Mary Ann Adams. He
    was a member of the Baptist
    church for 63 years and served as
    a deacon for 45 years. He was also
    a member of the Masonic lodge for
    40 years.
    In 1889 he moved to Texas and
    lived in Dallas before it was even
    a village. In 1914 he moved to
    Mountain Park, where he lived un-
    til 1920 when he moved to Prairie
    View and made his home with his
    daughter and son-in-law Mr. and
    Mrs. J. R. Wann. He was buried
    by his wife who died in January,
    1925.
    He is survived by three daugh-
    ters, Mrs. Wann, Mrs. G. A.. Math-
    eny of Electra, Tex., and Mrs. W.
    H. Stroud of Vernon, Tex., one
    brother Miles M. Johnson of Inde-
    pendence, Mo., 14 grandchildren
    and 19 great grand children."
